Sustainability
Conservation is woven into the fabric of Jumby Bay life. The island sets a benchmark for sustainability in the Caribbean through its innovative and impactful initiatives. Every day offers an opportunity to create meaningful experiences for guests to witness and contribute to our efforts.
At Jumby Bay Island, we’re deeply committed to preserving the Caribbean’s fragile ecosystems. As part of Oetker Hotels’ Voices of Change series, we share the story of the world’s longest-running Hawksbill turtle project.

United for our future
At Jumby Bay, we’re deeply committed to preserving the Caribbean’s fragile ecosystems. The Jumby Bay Hawksbill Project is the longest, continuously running hawksbill research program in the world. Since 1987, the Project has monitored the hawksbill sea turtle nesting colony, with a mission to protect and conserve the endangered species.
Jumby Bay also commits to a holistic coral reef conservation with ongoing oversight and management.
The solar energy program is designed to cover up to 70% of the island’s needs, further reflecting Jumby Bay’s ethos that luxury and environmental responsibility go hand-in-hand.
