Morning

Breakfast at The Wolseley The Wolseley is the place to go for an iconic British breakfast. With a buzzing atmosphere from the moment the doors open, it stands proudly on one of London’s most famous streets, Piccadilly, very close to The Lanesborough. Its full English breakfast is a firm favourite with our concierge team, and all its pastries are baked daily on the premises. Booking in advance is highly recommended, especially on weekends.

Piccadilly The surrounding streets are brimming with iconic boutiques and couture brands. Indulge in some window shopping as you wind your way towards the famous Piccadilly Circus, and then on to Covent Garden, where you will find street shows, fashion stores and craft stalls in the famous covered market halls. If you are there at Christmas, don’t miss the iconic Covent Garden Christmas Tree and the surrounding street decorations.

Lunchtime

Lunch in Notting Hill For lunch, head to Notting Hill, the famous setting for so many movie dreams, and take a seat at Caractère. The people behind this chic new Notting Hill restaurant are a starry couple: she is Michel Roux Jr’s daughter; he is a former head chef at Le Gavroche. Together they have created a classy contemporary venue with a menu that’s oddly divided into six character traits: Curious, for example, offers delights such as roast diver scallops with radicchio, hazelnut, blood orange and beurre blanc.

Afternoon

The iconic Portobello Road Take a stroll around London’s finest street market, Notting Hill’s Portobello Road, which is at its bustling best on Saturdays and Fridays. It’s a great place to pick up antiques and vintage treasures or just to explore the colourful streets and soak up the unique atmosphere. Alternatively, ask the concierge about the special Lanesborough walking tours, incorporating vintage and luxury shopping at Notting Hill and Belgravia’s best boutiques.

LAN - The Garden Room at The Lanesborough Cigars

Evening

Louie London Restaurant After this very British day, shake things up with a visit to Louie London restaurant, which offers the ambience and cuisine of New Orleans in an old townhouse in Covent Garden. For dessert, let yourself be tempted by the praline bread pudding, with Scotch whiskey cream. Visit on a Tuesday and you will be rewarded with a live jazz session.

The Garden Room Back at the hotel, head to the covered outdoor terrace of the Garden Room for a nightcap and perhaps a Cuban cigar from the walk-in humidor. If you’re keen to learn more, enquire about our regular cigar masterclasses.
